UN ECOSOC Engagement: ROOTA's Role in International Development

The Economics and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) has adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to grant special consultative status to Rising Out Of The Ashes (ROOTA NGO). This consultative status allows ROOTA to engage in various ways with UN ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, including the Human Rights Council. Additionally, it enables participation in specific meetings of the General Assembly and other intergovernmental bodies, supporting the broader goals of international development.

The UNFCCC secretariat is pleased to inform you that the Conference of the Parties (COP) at its twenty-ninth session has admitted ROOTA NGO to the UNFCCC process as an observer organization, recognizing its commitment to international development. The admitted organizations are listed in document FCCC/CP/2024/2. Congratulations.
