The objective is empowerment for women and girls by teaching them a trade of being qualified to use glass waste recycling technology. After a period of three months, they eventually provide extra income for the household and help with the family expenses. Our ultimate goal as a Canadian Registered Charitable organi
In 2020, ROOTA mobilized funds to Donate home looms, table looms, upright looms and sewing/quilting machines to Zabaleen women to assist them in creating self-sustaining income and economic independence. Help us to stop the cycle of poverty.
ROOTA initiated a home loom program for the Zabaleen women by providing home looms for them in their shacks. We visit them and assign a carpenter to develop a loom to fit the size of their shack allowing them an opportunity to work from home and produce an extra income to help with the family expenses.
ROOTA has been accredited consultative status with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) since 2021 and the UN Economic and Social Council since 2023. We are also a registered charity, charitable #783861529 RR 0001.
